Title: Getting Suspicious
Post by: jballz on March 15, 2012, 04:14 am
So i was going on vacation so i told a vendor to hold my order. when i finally told him to ship it it took him 4 days to contact me back after sending him a message each day saying things such as: "where have you been" "hey don't mean to bug you but i am just wondering if everything is all good" this vendor is usually very good with communication and i have ordered from him before and they have been flawless orders. should i be getting worried that his shit might have gotten messed up such as LE or is he possibly scamming me or i could just be a very paranoid person haha. Please any feedback would help ease my stress. thanks

asking A vendor to hold your mail is pretty strange. you ask the vendor to hold your mail and then when after awhile you message him he doesnt get right back to you you think hes a scammer or a cop? dont do abnormal things if you want everything to go normally. if the order gets all fucked up you only have yourself to blame. if i was a vendor and someone asked me to hold mail i would be very suspicious. why would you order knowing you are about to go on vacation. why do people on here ask vendors to do retarded things and then instantly call leo when theres a 1 day delay.

Couldn't agree more.  Vendors have enough to keep track of.  They don't need to be holding your shit just because you decided to go on vacation.  Maybe the Vendor should charge a storage fee?  I think maybe 1 BTC per day would be reasonable.

These guys aren't your local drug dealer buddies, they're professional businessmen. In other words they're not your friends, you got to understand that its how it works with pros.

Still, if a vendor agreed to hold an order and ship it out later, they should be responsible for it.  If they're too busy being professional businessmen or whatever, they should have made that clear up front and refused to do the guy that favor.

he took longer than the said time to get out the order and he altered me of this and asked if it was going to be a problem because he was backed up. i said yes because i am going on vacation unless you want to hold it for me until i come back. he agreed to this. thus it is his responsibility

Sounds like your vendor is completely disorganized as of late. He didn't ship your order in a timely fashion. By the time he finally got his shit together and told you he was ready to ship it, it was too inconvenient for you because you were going on vacation.
So you asked him to hold it and he agreed, saying he'd ship it at a time when it was sure to arrive after you got back.
Now he's not returning your messages, nor have you received your order.
You're worried he got busted by LE or something, and that's why he's not responding, right?
I'M JUST CLARIFYING BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE ARE OBVIOUSLY MISUNDERSTANDING.
I don't think you should assume that he's in trouble. He's probably just busy and doesn't have his shit together. Maybe he didn't hold on to your order and is now out of stock. Have you checked to see if his listing is still up?

I think you should disclose who your vendor is. A couple of people asked, including a moderator. If other people are regular customers of his, they might be having the same problem or might know what's going on with the vendor. Also, if your vendor has his own thread in the RUMOR MILL, you might want to ask in there.  ;)

Don't pay attention to the people who are being jerks. Some people are too quick to judge before knowing the whole story, and jump to conclusions instead of asking for clarification.

If your vendor doesn't get back yo you within a couple more days (or however many more days you consider sufficient), you might want to initiate contact with SR support.

Are you in escrow? I hope you didn't finalize early, but I'm guessing you might have?

If you actually read the post, you would see that he is not accusing the vendor of being a cop. He is worried that the vendor might have gotten busted by LE, and that's why he isn't responding. Because, as jballz stated (if you read the post before getting all critical on him), this behavior from the vendor is out of the ordinary. He said the vendor is usually a great communicator.

I personally, as I already said, think it's going a little far to assume the vendor is in trouble with the law. But as jballz indicated himself, he tends to be a little paranoid about these things. So let's reassure him a little and try to HELP instead of giving him the middle finger, eh?

I don't think that most misunderstood.  The original post didn't explain it very well.  In the original post it sounded like he placed his order and then decided to go on vacation and asked the Vendor to hold his order.

If you don't explain yourself well people will assume that what you wrote is true.

If you don't explain yourself well people will assume that what you wrote is true.

What he wrote initially WAS true, it's just that he didn't elaborate. Reading the last post where jballz tells the rest of the story, it doesn't contradict his first post. You're right, he did not articulate it very clearly, so people *misunderstood*. And what I was referring to when I said people are misunderstanding was people were saying jballz assumed his vendor is a cop. He didn't say he thought the vendor was a cop, he said he was worried that the vendor might have ***gotten in trouble with the law.*** And he said it in the first post. The post that you and lvl responded to.  ;) That's what I was clarifying. That's what jballz said in his first post. Capish?

lol

There were assumptions before knowing all the details and he was called "retarded." I think that if that's all you have to contribute to a person who is asking for help, spare the poster your holier-than-thou directive and save yourself the trouble of typing. Move on to the next thread. :) Even if all your assumptions were true, the vendor agreed to hold the order. As someone else said, if he agreed then he is responsible. If he wasn't willing to do it, he should have said so, and then there would be no responsibility on the vendor's end, and there wouldn't be a problem to post in the forums for us to comment on and be dicks about. So there really was no point in telling him how dumb he is. By your logic, the vendor would be just as dumb for agreeing to something that's so "abnormal" as lvl so eloquently put it.

Besides, in seeing that the guy has poor articulation skills, don't you think it's probably more effective to ask him questions so that you can better understand the situation instead of writing him off and telling him he's stupid? If that's all you can come up with and you're that bored, read a book or go burn some ants with a magnifying glass. lol And just for the record, when I say "you," I mean the proverbial "you." Not YOU personally. Just to clarify before you start feeling the need to defend yourself.

And now, I really think it's probably better to stay on topic. ^_^ It wasn't much, but I hope some of my advice helps the guy out.  Hopefully this predicament gets worked out for him. SR is the best thing to happen to the web and drugs and liberty in a long time. It doesn't have a perfect system, and that's why these issues arise, but it will get better and hopefully actualize its potential. I'll be checking back to see if jballz updates the thread.

zdish out.

Amen to that!!! I have had the same problems with jerks judging me before they know the whole storry! Even i had read a post of a user claiming that i have send him or her an pm to send money, when i even never knew about that user or have any contact with. Also here on SR there are people with 2 faces, those i hate the most and if i one day can serve clients they can fuck off. Those peoples with 2 faces are saying bad stuff like some other users, AND THEN THEY SEND ME A PM TO ASK FOR BIZZ OUTSIDE SR!!! Those are the worst! But 98% here off my expierence on SR with posts and pm's are positive :). I have done my apologiez to the community and said we just have to focus on the real scammers. Look in the H vendor section a couple pages back, then you will see about what i am speaking, like you said judging somebody without knowing what was realy going on is easy and can hurt the person. Have a nice day everybody ;)
